Deadline Extension: 29th of April

Keynote Speakers:

We are pleased to invite abstracts for submission to the fourth annual ‘Understanding Value’ conference, a three day graduate conference, to be held on the 29th-31stof July 2015, at the University of Sheffield, UK. The fourth in a line of successful conferences on the topic of value, the ‘Understanding Value’ conference provides a stimulating and supportive environment for postgraduate students, and those who have recently been awarded their Ph.Ds, to share and discuss their work.

Questions of value concern almost every area of philosophy, and this conference aims to provide a space for people working in many different areas to come and discuss this broad topic. By creating an environment in which postgraduates with diverse interests and approaches to the subject of value can freely share their work, we hope to open up new thoughts and connections which all involved will find illuminating. With this in mind, we accept submissions from every area of philosophy (such as metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, epistemology, applied ethics or political philosophy) which aim to discuss the nature or application of value.

We invite speakers who are currently postgraduates, or have submitted a Ph.D within two years of the conference date. We welcome speakers from all traditions within philosophy, or from areas of cross-disciplinary interest. Speakers will be allowed approximately 20 minutes for presentation, followed by 10 minutes of questions.
