We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the conference Beings and Doings, to be held at University College London on the 24th and 25th of June, 2016. The conference will feature eight international speakers presenting papers on the metaphysics of continuants, the metaphysics of action and their interrelations. These speakers are:

· Dr Maria Alvarez (KCL) – title: TBC

· Prof Matthew Boyle (Harvard) – title: ‘Knowledge as Subject and Agential Knowledge’

· Asst Prof Anton Ford (Chicago) – title: TBC

· Prof Jennifer Hornsby (Birkbeck) – title: TBC

· Dr Rory Madden (UCL) – title: TBC

· Prof Lucy O’Brien (UCL) – title: TBC

· Prof Sebastian Rödl (Leipzig) – title: TBC

· Prof Helen Steward (Leeds): title: ‘Bradley’s Regress and a Problem in Action Theory’

Attendance is free and open to all, though registration is required. We ask that those wishing to register email us by June 1st (subject: ‘Register’; body: name, affiliation and status, if any.)

We are pleased to be able to offer up to five graduate subsidies, covering at least 50% of the cost of UCL-provided accommodation. To apply, please email us by April 8th (subject: ‘Graduate Subsidy’; body: name, affiliation, status, year of study, and a 200 word statement explaining your interest in the conference and its relevance to your studies.)

Call for Papers – Sheffield Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy

The University of Sheffield’s Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy invites undergraduate to submit papers for consideration for our first publication.

We are accepting submissions from now until 5pm on Tuesday 29th March 2016.

Submissions should be sent to u.g.phil.journal by the above deadline, and papers ideally should be between 2000-5000 words in length. We are accept submissions relating to any area of philosophy, however papers which argue for, or present, an original claim are preferable. We are also accepting book reviews of no more than 2000 words. Full submission guidelines are attached to this email, however should your students require any further information they should feel free to contact us at the above email address.
